From the workshop
We hung bright lighting around the clear backboard and built the whole setup to drop over a standard bedroom door. The electronic scorer tracks solo shootouts or passing games with friends, cheering when a shot drops. A small remote switches the light patterns and manages the volume from the bed or rug.
Remote controlled modes
A handheld remote switches between solo shootouts, pair matches, and level challenges. It also adjusts the cheer volume and cycles through the glow settings along the edge without anyone climbing onto a chair to reach the backboard.
Steel rim and fold
The rim is solid steel, hung on a spring that takes the pull of a dunk and snaps back up. When bedroom hallway traffic picks up, the metal rim folds flat against the door to stay out of the way.
Quiet door padding
Thick foam strips run behind the board to soften the smack against painted wood. The brackets slip over the top of the door frame without screws, so the door still closes normally while the game stays put.
Glowing backboard trim
Reds and other light tones wash across the backboard rim whenever a shot drops. The scorer keeps track on the digital board up top, announcing the turns between players and calling out the winning run.
