From the workshop
We built this over-the-door board with a steel rim, glowing light modes, and a small remote to run the games from across the room. A foam pad sits behind the blue backboard to soften the rattle against the bedroom door. Several game modes track solo shootouts or turn-based play between friends.
Lights and remote control
The remote changes rim light colors, adjusts the speaker volume, and switches through game modes from across the room. The lights flash along with the cheering voice whenever a shot drops through the net.
Electronic game modes
The digital display keeps track during solo play, head-to-head rounds where players take turns, and a multi-level challenge mode. Points count up automatically with higher values awarded during the final stretch of the timer.
Steel rim and fold
A reinforced steel rim handles regular dunking and folds flat against the backboard when the game ends. That fold keeps the hoop out of the way so the bedroom door opens and closes without catching on furniture.
Door mounting and padding
Padded hooks hang the board over standard interior door frames without drilling into woodwork. Thick foam strips along the back cushion each bank shot and cut down on noise when someone plays late in the evening.
