From the workshop
We built this standing hoop for living rooms, hallways, and basement shootouts. The rim flashes when a shot drops through, and the backboard keeps running score. You can raise the pole as the player gets taller or weight the base with water before tipoff.
Glowing rim lights
A strip of lights runs along the rim and flashes whenever a ball drops through the net. It turns an evening living room shootout into an event and helps kids spot the target in dim light.
Electronic scoring backboard
The backboard tracks made shots and displays the running tally right above the rim. It gives players instant feedback on each layup without someone needing to keep track on paper.
Adjustable pole height
The center pole raises and lowers through several distinct notches so the rim matches the shooter. Lower it for easy dunks or push it up when players want to practice real jump shots.
Weighted hollow base
Fill the bottom base with water or sand from the garage to keep the whole rig steady against hard banks. It stays upright during fast play but empties out easily when you need to move it.
