From the workshop
We built this hoop for doors that see a lot of traffic. The wide backboard handles heavy bank shots, while the spring rim bends down on a dunk and snaps back up on its own. Thick foam pads protect the wood frame from hard rattles.
Spring rim action
The reinforced steel rim is built on a heavy coil spring. It pulls down when someone dunks and pops straight back up into place without bending the metal or pulling on the backboard.
Door frame protection
Dense foam padding lines the corners of the clear board. The soft backing dampens the rattle of hard shots against the wood, which keeps the hallway quiet when a game gets loud.
Foldable steel hoop
The rim swings upward to sit flush against the backboard when the game is over. That lets the door swing open and shut normally without catching on the closet or the bedroom wall.
Balls for the box
We include both larger and smaller mini basketballs along with the hanging hardware. The big ball gives older players a solid grip, while the smaller one suits little hands.
