From the workshop
We built this floating hoop with a firm backboard so bank shots actually bounce into the net while everyone is in the water. The wide base uses multiple hollow posts to stay upright when waves pick up. Corner pegs hold toss rings when players want a different game.
Backboard and rim
Bank shots work because the backboard is rigid enough to rebound a wet ball back toward the net. The rim sits above the waterline so swishes make a clean splash.
Floating base balance
The broad base uses several pillars to spread weight across the water. You can fill the bottom sections with pool water to keep the rig steady through heavy splashing.
Built in ring toss
The upright posts double as targets for colorful toss rings included in the box. Kids can toss rings from the shallow end between shooting rounds without moving the frame.
Pack down and storage
The pipes push together without tools and pull apart when swimming season winds down. Everything dries quickly and stacks into a tidy pile for the shed shelf.
