From the workshop
The pole telescopes in steps, so one hoop covers the years between a two-handed heave and a real jump shot. The base takes sand or water to hold the rig through rebounds. A backboard mounts above the rim. It moves indoors for winter and back out when the driveway dries.
Telescoping pole
The post locks at a run of heights along its length. Raising it is a matter of releasing the collar and sliding the section up.
Fillable base
Sand or water in the foot keeps the hoop planted when the ball comes off the rim hard. Empty, the whole thing is light enough to carry.
Board above the rim
A backboard sits over the hoop so bank shots behave the way they do on a court. The rim is mounted low on the board for small hands.
Indoors and out
The footprint fits a hallway or a garage as easily as a driveway. Nothing on it minds being moved between the two.
